The Bare Bones Boogie Band formed in October 2008 and played the 100 Club within 6 months.
We are Helen Turner (vocals), from Glasgow, Iain Black (guitar), from St.Andrews in Fife, Trev Turley (bass), from Birmingham, and Andy Jones (drums) from Manchester.
We play stripped-down, heavy, soulful blues. We keep things simple to let the music breathe. We do not apologise for our rawness, nor for our tenderness.
The roots of our sound are the heavy electric blues-rock and the soulful blues of the late 60s / early 70s.
We released our 3rd album, Tattered & Torn, in September 2013, and have taken our blues forward a step, developing the rock and soul elements, while retaining our definitive stripped-down, blues heart.
Previous BBBB releases, Red (2010, BBBBCD1) and Blue (2012, BBBBCD2) received highly complimentary reviews and airplay at the BBC and around the world. Album and live performance reviews can be found on our REVIEWS page.
